For over 40 years, the Citrus Club has been hailed as Orlando's premier social & business club. A member of the world renowned ClubCorp network, the Citrus Club is one of ClubCorp's 150 leading private clubs located around the globe. Since 2008 the Citrus Club has hosted the annual "Diamonds are Forever" charity extravaganza; a black tie affair boasting cocktails & casino games whose sole purpose is to raise both funds & awareness for a local Central Florida charity.

In 2012, the Diamonds are Forever charity event raised over $90K for the Camaraderie Foundation, Inc., an organization that provides counseling, as well as emotional and spiritual support for re-deployed or deployed Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Reservists, Guardsmen, and their families.

All media was shot on location at the Citrus Club in Orlando, Florida.

Objective

The event organizers at the Citrus Club commissioned The Talking Head team to capture the fun & festivities of the night's event. The final product would be utilized as a marketing vehicle to raise additional awareness for the following year and increase the number of corporate sponsorships.

With that purpose in mind, our team made the decision to shoot a separate one-on-one interview with the Citrus Club's General Manager, Steve Alden, to cover an overview of the annual event & inquire what plans are in store for 2013.

Challenges

The festivities of the night included low lighting, laughing, merriment and general exuberance of the attendees. Absolutely fantastic for the event itself, however it proved challenging for our video & sound crew. Add to that the complexities of bringing a "low-key" filming environment to capture a natural setting, without too many people dodging the cameras -- as they often do.

We tackled the challenges by filming with smaller body equipment and actively engaging with the attendees to create a more organic interaction before filming. The video snapshots and interview will be used by the Citrus Club for their 2013 Diamonds are Forever marketing endeavors.
